Daniel, 21

These are the hopeful words of Daniel, a 21-year-old carpenter from Goma, in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Daniel, like many young people in Goma, has faced big challenges. Ongoing instability in the DRC, and poor infrastructure, makes it difficult to get a good education or find work. But Daniel took an opportunity to participate in carpentry classes run by CAJED, CAFOD’s local partner in Goma. Thanks to the donations of CAFOD supporters like you, Daniel learned how to make furniture. He now has a small workshop and makes tables, chairs, and doors that he sells in his local community.

Daniel is carving out a better future for himself and his family, standing as a sign of hope for other young people in Goma. Give today so that people around the world can learn new skills and fulfil their God-given potential.
