Beyond the Jubilee Year: Five ways to keep hope alive

This Jubilee Year, you have stood with your neighbours facing injustice to show your unwavering hope. You have campaigned against unfair debt, volunteered at your local parish, given to your neighbours in need and much more! You truly have been a sign of hope – thank you.

At the start of the year, Pope Francis called us to be 'Pilgrims of Hope'. We embarked on this journey together: working to provide practical help to our sisters and brothers, from emergency food during conflict to building vegetable gardens in villages.

But hope does not stop here. A better world needs all of us, and you can keep your hope alive beyond this Jubilee Year. To get you started, here are five ways you can do just that.

1. You’re invited to join the Jubilee end of year webinar

Join CAFOD Director Christine Allen in delving into the special history of the Jubilee Year and how it inspires Catholic social action.

You’ll hear about Pope Leo XIV’s transformative months in office from special guest Christopher Lamb, CNN Vatican Correspondent, and get unique insight on life-changing work you have supported on debt and climate justice from expert Public Policy Manager Pablo Soriano Mena.

2. Reflect with a guided journalling session

Take some time for yourself to reflect and feel closer to God. Our Theology team have crafted a special guided journalling session for you to look back on your Jubilee year.

Simply find a quiet space, pick up a pencil and paper, then follow the steps in our video below. (There's also a video for young people, with a primary school version following soon!)

3. Take climate action together

You can join hundreds of supporters in standing together on the Global Day of Action! For Catholics, this Jubilee Year we have an exciting opportunity to renew our faith through taking climate action.

You can respond to the urgent need to care for our common home here in the UK. Supporters like you will be gathering in central London, Manchester and many other cities on Saturday 15 November.

The Global Day of Action is an opportunity to show solidarity with our sisters and brothers overcoming the climate crisis.

4. Celebrate with your local school
